# Période de construction des bâtiments à plusieurs logements

## Description

L'époque de la construction est un indicateur important de l'état des bâtiments et des logements.

Environ la moitié de la population suisse (48%) loge dans un bâtiment construit entre 1961 et 2000 et 35% vivent dans un bâtiment construit avant 1961. Cette dernière période de construction correspond à 42% du parc des bâtiments d’habitation. Le canton de Bâle-Ville se distingue toutefois avec un parc composé aux trois quarts (75%) de bâtiments construits avant 1961. 58% de la population du canton de Bâle-Ville est concernée par cette catégorie de bâtiment.

17% de la population suisse loge dans des bâtiments construits après 2000 (état 2015). Cette catégorie de bâtiment représente 14% des bâtiments à usage d’habitation. Les cantons de Zoug (27%), Schwytz (26%) et Fribourg (25%) se distinguent avec une part particulièrement élevée de leurs résidents vivant dans de telles habitations. Le parc de bâtiments du canton de Fribourg est exceptionnellement récent avec 22% des bâtiments construits au XXIe siècle. A l’inverse, seuls 3% des bâtiments ont été construits durant cette période dans le canton de Bâle-Ville, 7% dans celui de Glaris et 8% dans celui d’Appenzell Rhodes-Extérieures (voir graphique G7).

La différence entre la surface moyenne par habitant des maisons individuelles et celle des logements situés dans des bâtiments à plusieurs logements est plus faible dans les constructions récentes que dans les constructions plus anciennes. Dans les maisons individuelles, la surface moyenne par habitant est de 49m2 pour la période de construction 2001 à 2010 et de 52m2 pour les bâtiments construits après 2010 (1981 à 1990: 58m2). Dans les bâtiments à plusieurs logements, elle est de 43m2 pour la période de construction 1981 à 1990, de 44m2 pour 1991 à 2000, de 47m2 pour 2001 à 2010 et de 48m2 de 2011 à 2015 (voir graphique G9).

Le recensement des bâtiments et des logements réalisé dans le cadre du recensement de la population ne porte pas sur la totalité des bâtiments, mais seulement sur ceux dont au moins une partie sert è l'habitation et sur ceux qui étaient habités au moment du recensement.
