Atlas of Switzerland – Release March 2025

We are pleased to announce the latest version of the Atlas of Switzerland, featuring a range of new updates and improvements aimed at optimizing the user experience.

This update focuses particularly on enhancing the visualization and interaction with elements in the infobox (pop-up) that appears after clicking on a map element.

The new Atlas Desktop App is now available for free for Windows and Mac in the Download section. The most important new features and improvements at a glance:

• New: Users can now directly access additional information through links in the pop-ups — if available. External links open in the default browser.
• New: It is now possible to copy values directly from the pop-ups, making data extraction easier.
• New: Longer texts are now fully displayed in pop-ups with text wrapping, ensuring no information is lost.
• New: An alternating background color for text in the pop-ups has been introduced to improve data readability.
• Improved: The transparency of the bar for related map themes and of the pop-ups has been adjusted to enhance visibility and readability.
• Improved: The installation process of the desktop app for Windows users has been improved.

These updates make exploring and understanding maps even smoother and more user-friendly.
